Summer Youth Institute
In 2010, Leap Forward Collaborative for Youth joined the East Side Network Cafe in offering the Summer Youth Institute.  Over 200 summer workers gathered for this day-long training event for summer youth workers.  Three of the institute's instructors came from LEAP organizations during this inaugural year of participation:
 - Juliet Mitchell of UJIMA and Camphor Church led the session "Youth Work Village," which addressed the need for all the adults in a child's life to work as a team
 - Cathy Courtney of Scheffer Recreation Center taught the session  "Maximizing Impact through Program Planning"
 - LEAP Coordinator Jocelyn Wiedow of the YWCA led Maintaining Your Mojo:  Boundaries to Prevent Burnout"

"We were thrilled to have LEAP join us in this venture," said ESNC Coordinator Lou Bender.  "Their willingness to share their skills with the community added immensely to what we were able to offer in support of St Paul youth programs this year."
